According to the January 2013 issue of Annals of Oncology, the side effects of chemotherapy are left out of the articles. Investigators are going overboard to make their studies look as positive as possible. Two thirds of 164 studies were found to downplay the side effects of chemotherapy. This, of course, leads oncologists to treatment protocols that don't give patients an honest appraisal of what their treament involves.
Scientists were found to spin their results to make them look better than they really are. There is a lot of pressure on researchers because their job depends on publishing research.
